Pontiac, IL. | What is everyone's opinion on a good reliable refrigerator. Our basement fridge went out after only about 6 yrs. It was a GE side-by-side, bought at a "big box" store. NOT a cheap model. Bought it on sale, and expected it to last a long time, but didn't. Had a refrigeration tech look at it, and he said compressor was running, but not drawing hardly any amps, meaning: low on freon (leak) or compressor bad. He did not recommend fixing it. What's a good, reliable, brand? FWIW, the 30 yr. old frig that went out of our kitchen and into our shop, and is still running is a GE. Guess they don't make them like they used to. | |
