SE Iowa | I have a pasture I need to seed for a landlord and just wondering what is the best mix to seed. I had rye in it this year so its ready to seed anytime. I get my seed from welterseed.com they do have some pre mixed mixes. I also have an 5 year old alfalfa, grass hay field that is by my pastures that needs to be rotated to crop or seed some more into it and use for pasture, was wondering what you have seeded into existing Grass with success. Very little alfalfa is left foxtail takes over late in the season now. I will be baling first cutting off then posturing, I have to go though my pasture and a creek crossing to get to it making it a pain to row crop and to make hay. So I'm leaning towards pasture and adding some more cows. Just needing some advice, thanks | |
