western NY | I know a few of you raise cabbage so I should get the answer I'm looking for.
I want to set out maybe 100 plants or so, a neighbor has several flats he started in the greenhouse and now needs to find a home for it. We have a roadside stand and with the decent weather we've had I have time to play with some different vegtables. I want to end up with small heads like the ones I see all wrapped up at the grocery store, a little bigger than a softball. Are they from a certain variety? Or is that just a result of setting them real close together? It's probably been 20 years since I was around any cabbage production and that was for kraut so I need a little lesson.
