Frytown, Iowa | My friend had his name in for a tour for 2 years and finally got to get a tour. He called me up and I said "I'll be there!"
I had toured their factory 2 times already. Once about 15 years ago and another last year. I know we toured the factory around the lunch break but it just seemed like hardly anything was being used. Seems like a large slow down from even last year. Still, like last time... A very good tour. Just didn't get to see machines in action.
After the factory tour we went to Jons place and toured pry 4 or 5 sheds. Was fun to see. But I didn't think we got to spend as much time in the case IH barn with all the 56 series tractors... I liked the 20 series shed but I'm around those tractors all the time so was interesting to see the red.
One tractor that was tucked away that I thought should have been center stage is the 8020. Not many that I would come across and would have loved to get closer but tractors were parked close enough together I couldn't get close. You can see a farmall H at any tractor show... The 8020 just isn't around...
A good tour from Jon. Can tell he has a good sense of humor or is just in his element in that atmosphere. Worth the 2 year wait.
The 4620 didn't even get an honorable mention. My favorite... Well... Actually the repowers were my favorite... The 1256 repower and 4520 powershift repower were my favorites.
