Subject: Regional hay market

Eastern Oregon
Watching the non stop rain fall on part of my first cutting thats been down since Sunday. Seen a lot of my neighbors with bleached early first cutting. A lot of early cutting going on due to weevil infestations. Been watching the local ads to see what prices are doing. Seems to be $100 - $150 depending on quality and size.

I put a new alfalfa seeding with grass this spring. No till planted into wheat stubble and it's looking good except for the surge of wild oats coming on. Looks like we'll have to sacrifice the grass in order to spray the oats out. The next time that I try this, think I will establish the alfalfa first and then plant the grass?
