Subject: Holstein babies

WCMN
I am looking at getting a load of baby bull calves out of Wisconsin. Just wondering if any one has been getting them sourced through Reynolds Livestock or any other order buyers lately? I normally get 80-100 a month from local dairies and salebarns. It is hard to get the even groups of 90lb to 100lb in that amount all the time. It would be 4.5 to 6.5 hr ride for them to get here from Wisconsin.
For those that do get them long distance, do you use a different receiving protocol? Should I expect more problems, scours? Around here it is widely believed that salmonella is a bigger issue in Wisconsin calves, any truth to that? Email is good if rather respond that way. Thanks

Tony
