Death comes to us all. Life's but a walking shadow | The last few days I've been monitoring the activity of the Ports of Paranagua and Santos, Brazil in order to get a sense of the export business there. In the past three days roughly 300thousand tons of something (corn or soybeans?) have left there. What's interesting is all of the bulk carriers seem to be of the size of 35-45 thousand metric tons, no bigger. Also interesting, a few ships moor for several days in position to load and then suddenly return to the parking lot empty. One ship left Santos, rapidly moved to Paranagua and now waits in line there. Several ships have been in position to load in Paranagua for more than a week.
