Subject: JD 1710A Disk Chisel Good or Bad?

Kalona, IA

Am looking for opinions on a 11 shank JD 1710A disk chisel. What kind of HP would it require at 6-8"? The shanks look far enough apart that I wonder if the stalks would need to be shredded after harvest to operate in heavy residue? With the curved disk blades does it bring up quite a bit of dirt? What era were these built? Would straight shanks do enough tillage or would curved be important.?  HP difference between the 2?

Lot of ??'s I know but I'd appreciate any insights users have had.

THANKS!
