This year hurricane Bill dumped 5 inches in 4 days on an already lodging wheat crop. Hard wheat went from 66# to 58# and soft wheat down very low and flattened it to the ground. We spent the last 2 & 1/2 weeks at a crawl with headers on the ground fighting mud. It was still a profitable crop just aggravating to watch it lose so much with combines ready. | |
