Subject: Another "Grazing downed Milo" question

SW of Enid OK
This quarter of Milo was finished up yesterday. Some of it was down pretty bad and since it was all dead and easy to combine, it was cut as low to the ground as possible. There are really no stalks left standing. Will this make the risk of high Nitrates higher or lower. Will the stalks now be thoroughly mixed reducing the risk of nitrates or is there now a greater chance since the stalks are now chopped and cows more likely to eat them? Thanks, Jim
