Subject: Starting cattle pics

One of my projects this week has been buying some 4 wt bulls out of the sale barn and a few from my neighbor and Getting them weaned and straightened out to turn out on rye in a few weeks. The weather has been perfect. I have 6 pens in my corral, and have from 6-10 in each pen. I am using the cypress bunks we built last year. I bought some small squares of good grass. I fill my wheel barrow with wet distillers, and a square bale and go from pen to pen distributing the chow. I just sprinkle a little wdg on top to get them accustomed to it. They get friendly fast with me walking through the little pens frequently. We got them all cut, and I'll have them double vacd before turning out. I like the lone herf.
