Late this afternoon I gave the yearlings a bucket of sweet feed as a gentling tool. Snapped a picture as they were cleaning the bunk. On the right is my homegrown retained yearling bull #28. I am liking the way he is filling out! He seems to have bred the heifers with him on the first cycle. No signs of heat in that group. Then walked through the cows as they came to their waterer for the late afternoon drink. Overall I think they are looking pretty good. There is quite a contrast from a couple of my larger cows, #7 & #10 for example, and my target raised smaller 1100-1200 lb range cows #15 & #16 for example. Cow #24 was getting a drink of water while her bull calf was trying to get a drink of milk - and dripping a lot of it! Here are some pics from earlier this evening. Jim
