Subject: Follow up to 4020 starting issues

See my post about 4020 starting hard, in summary it cranks really slow at first like battery is dead, turn key off, try again cranks little faster, turn key off and cranks normal and starts.

Anyway, this is late model with two 12 volt batteries with one positive cable running to starter and each battery with individual ground cables mounted under platform.

Tonight after running it, decided to get battery tester out and test the batteries. Hooked positive up to starter and arched and starter made noise, this was with no positive hooked up? Is this normal or does it mean short somewhere, isn't that a fire hazard? Would you be worried.

Tested the batteries individually, no arching and seemed to test ok.

What's going on here?
