Subject: earliest planting of tillage radishes?

SC Kansas
We've got a place where they dug an oil well, and ended up plugging the well. The area where they drove is really compacted. I thought about ripping it this summer and then planting tillage radishes to get it in a little better shape before going to wheat in the fall. What's the earliest I can plant those in SC Kansas?
