Subject: Using acid /preservative on hay

WC Illinois/SE Iowa
There is a post in machinery talk about what type of acid system to use on a round baler, and I have a varying question to this.

I have acquired some more hay ground that is straight grass. This will be completely sold as a cash crop for me as I don't need any extra for the animals I own. I have a market to horse owners and these will be small square bales. My question is, is using a preservative on straight grass hay any help? I would like it to look as good as it can because I know the majority of the bales will come from the first cutting and who I will be selling it to will not take delivery until November. Selling bales is relatively new to me and I want to have a quality product for my customers.

I have never used a preservative and I'm not sure if it will benefit me to do so.

TIA
