Subject: How much fert. is ok in spring strip?

Blue Grass (Eastern IA)

Wanting to do some spring striptill fert. application.  I have been notill for 15 yrs. and have been fall dribbling my P & K in 15" bands.  Thinking I would like to get some fert. down 6" deep this spring since it didn't get it dribbled last fall.  I can rent a knife machine with trash whippers and closing disks.  I thought while I'm at it why not apply 2 yrs. worth at once.  Can I put 40-120-160 liquid in 30" bands and plant corn over it 2 weeks later without problems?  Would it be better to plant beside the strips, or just a bad idea altogether?

TIA
