Subject: ? for Ray Jenkins - Moisture Discount

Boone Co. Iowa
Hi,

I see that you posted your comments on the grain markets Jan. 10 that you started to discount your moisture dock at 3/4 rate on Jan. 2nd. Just wondered if you have done that kind of thing before? Specific to "wet corn" years?

I also see that my local e-plant has returned to a nickel discount / half point moisture increase, it had been 7 cents for quite some time. I don't know when that change occurred, I think sometime after the harvest, prior to everyone's bin welding jobs.

Makes sense that the moisture discount ought to reflect the price of the bu. of corn, i.e. 7 cents for $7 bu. corn, nickel for $4 corn.

Anyway, I couldn't find your discount schedule Ray, do you publish that somewhere?

Thanks.
