Subject: Insight Mounting - 9000 Series Deere Combines

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
I mounted my Insight in my 9650 combine utilizing the Ram Mount system.

I prefer this over the original mounting location on the side window that Ag Leader suggests.

This location blocks my view less and reduces glare. It also allows me to look at the screen at a more direct angle which is desirable with my poor vision.

I removed the plastic trim piece from the cab corner post and attached the Ram Mount through the plastic. I was concerned since this plastic is not very strong. I added two screws to the right hand side of the trim as shown in the photo.

By pushing the Insight into the corner as far as possible it is cushioned somewhat by the headliner. This helps to keep the mounting fairly firm. I used this mounting scheme for last year's harvest and did not have a problem with the plastic holding the Insight. This was a concern when I first installed the Ram Mount this way.
