Subject: Garvo, Tommy, and others, Ear Corn Again

southern new england
Hi, I read agtalk regularly but have never posted before so here goes. A little background:I calve about 60 cows and finish about thirty head a year for the freezer trade/niche markets using a slow grow system of corn silage, balage and some hay. All homegrown feed no byproducts or implants. I would like to improve my feed and am going to add ground ear corn. (No driers or elevators in this area) My question is concerning a crib. I am building a machine storage shed 42x88x16 and am considering the end wall for a 7' wide crib. Building runs east to west so could access from south side. Could have concrete floor to empty with skid loader. Is this good or bad? Many old crib plans show elevated floors emptying with a corn drag or side doors. Any comments appreciated. Thanks in advance.
