Subject: Putting land into WRP, any new do's and don't?

Northeast Louisiana
I hate doing anything with gov't, but I bought a cypress brake that was clearcut few years back. The NRCS asked me about putting it into WRP. Think ownership has to be 7 years. Was told that could sign a waver that exempts that if you did not buy land strictly for WRP purposes. I also asked about reserving a right of way and few acres for future oil well drilling, they said that can work. This land can't be farmed since it's too low if I really wanted to. So farming is out of picture for real. I actually bought this for hunting purpose.

I have land in CRP, not never had any WRP.

Any ideas? I just want to be one step ahead of them but legal.
