Subject: Merry Christmas

There are a lot of good ideas and intelligent comment on this forum & I appreciate the opportunity to participate. Hopefully, through the interchange of free thought we can all profit and, at the least, survive in the upcoming year.

To be philosophical for a moment, and to take a simple look back at some history and also present day, Stalin purged millions of farmers, one of the reasons being farm producers retained sufficient food supplies locally to protect against crop failure and inflation....Stalin recognized the major concern in time of famine were the city dwellers able to overthrow a government if they acted en masse. It was essential to provide a supply of food to the urban areas. He would not tolerate farmer hoarding of food.

Think about China, and some other developing countries, at this time. Folks are leaving, and have left, the farms by the millions & now are dependent upon buying food versus raising their own food; while China will certainly be able to grow an enormous amount of food & S.A as well.... we are now witness, as the world urbanizes, to what happens when we have either a back to back crop failure or a series of weather problems across several countries.
