Subject: hydrated lime cornstalks?

God's Country (N.C. Ia)
I know this is a relatively new process and there isn't a lot of data on it yet, but I was just wondering if it would make sense to mix wdgs with the cornstalks and hydrated lime all at the same time and store them together?
I've read about smaller producers mixing wdgs and ground stalks and then covering the mix to preserve the wdgs from spoilage as they may not be able to keep ahead of the wdgs by itself.
Has anyone tried treating the stalks with the lime and then mixing wdgs in and storing it in a pile or bag or the like? I'm more concerned about the possibility of the mixture being too toxic or something. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Also, I would like to know how the lime treated stalks are working for those that have gone that route. TIA
