| I have been watering 60 head of weaned calves with an old well. It is 47 foot deep, probably 4 foot around, and I can only get about 300 gallons out of it now before it shuts off. The well is going dry and not filling up quick enough, so I have been back feeding rural water from my house to this water line.
My brother has been watering another group of 30 with rural water. We put about 300' of new water line and two hydrants at this place (rented) a couple months ago.
Just wondering what everyone else does for water, especially the guys that background a few hundred calves. Rural water would get pretty expensive for anymore calves than I have. | |
