Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463 | Did a battery switch on one of the bigger generators today.
Since one of the batteries was about shot I decided to replace it with what I call a Lawn Tractor battery.
This required a battery box make over, but it was pretty easy.
And I was in luck. Local farm store had there better one on sale. Normal price about $35-, sale price about $25-. Same price as their cheapie one.
After getting done I cannot believe something I saw.
New battery has 300 CCA, 365 CA.
The little thing that came with the generator is 18 CCA. And probably would cost $25- or more to replace.
Figure all my generator fooling will mean I will not have a power outage this winter and spring.
Have not had one since I got generator number# one in 2010.
It is doing it's job just great.
