Some time ago you posted about feeding soaked shelled corn to cattle. We started about 8 wks ago and have been quite happy with the results. We have a small grazing dairy and had been feeding by product farm feed. With the rising cost of feed we were looking for something different. After reading about it on AT we decided to give it a try. We thought it was putting lbs on and the production remained the same. The cost savings was the biggest benefit. We are feeding 5 lbs of soaked corn/day. They don't want any more. I had shared what we were doing with some friends and they came over to take a look.(expecting to see bags of bones). They couldn't get over how fat/slick they looked compared to thier cows that get everything the university says they need. We are feeding for profit not production.. We'll see how it turns out in the spring, but for now it's working.
