north-central Indiana west of Fulton | ollieolliver gave you good information below. Here is some more about the Black Hawk connection to Cockshutt from a book called Cockshutt the Complete story. The deluxe paint scheme introduced in 1956 was also combined with the Black Hawk decal package, which was placed all deluxe model tractors marketed to the United States. This promotion was intended to draw attention in the United States market that Cockshutt had continued its expansion program with the opening of manufacturing, sales ,and service facilities in the U.S. They had acquired the company that made Black Hawk corn planters and pickers in 1952. Putting the Black Hawk name on the deluxe tractor line was their way of reminding the U.S.farmer that Cockshutt and Black Hawk were one in the same. These Black Hawks were only promoted from mid 1956 to early 1957. |
