Panhandle of Ne. | that has this problem 3-4 times a year. His mother and I think the tonsils need removed, but hasn't found a doctor to agree with her yet. The doctors don't do like they did when I was a kid. Back then, you have problem with your tonsils, snip and they are gone. A doctor today told her that they have a different threshold as to when to remove them now. A ENT told her 6 year had to have same problem 6 or more times a year before he would remove them. This doctor today said 3 times and he would think about it. This is the second time this year.
My question is, why not remove them and help the little feller feel better? I can't believe all the antibiotics he has to take to get over this can be good and missing school is not good either. It normally takes him a minimum of 1 week to get to feeling good again.
Has anybody else encountered the same problem? Are there measures to maybe ward off the tonsilitis like vitamins etc? He is given a multi-vitamin daily now. | |
