NE IL | The kohler triad engine in my grasshopper 618 has taken a dump with only 700 hours on it. I think it's gonna cost around $3,000 to put new power in it.
I went to John deere's website and seen they have the z425 priced at $3,999 for a brand new machine. I realize this is a residential mower that's belt driven versus my grasshopper being shaft driven and built for commercial use.
Having said all that, what would be the better choice.......brand new engine in the grasshopper (700 machine hours) at around $3,000
Or
Brand new jd z425 for $3,999.
I am going to be mowing around 3-4 acres at the farm plus my house in town
