Subject: Manually plumbing a vacuum gauge on a1760 Planter

Eastern Iowa
Well, it finally arrived. But there are a couple problems.

First, the 2003 JD 7520 we will be using to pull it has no case valve. My salesman says it isn't necessary to use it to protect the vacuum pump, which has a check valve to prevent reversing it. True or false?

Second, the planter was ordered without a 2630 display. The planter is apparently equipped to show vacuum pressure on the 2630 and supply power through an ISO BUS for the down pressure compressor. But my 7520 is not ISO BUS ready (another $800). To get around it, I ought to be able to power the compressor with a hot wire from my 7 pin connector and operate it manually from outside the cab, but what do I do about the lack of a pressure gauge? Can a conventional gauge be plumbed in somewhere on the unit so I can have an idea of what pressure I am operating at?
