Subject: JD 4830 Flowmeter issues

Texas Panhandle
We've started running our 2012 JD 4830. We got everything calibrated and now its running great. The one issue we're having now is the rate controller/flow meter isn't working right all the time. We've figured out the speed and pressure needed to get out 10 gpa and have been running. During our brief down times we've checked the calibrations, nozzle flow, rates, pressures and everything else we can think of. A few days ago we put a little water in it and went to check it out, and the pressure increased with speed up to 15 mph when it said solution flow was low. It was working correctly. It sat all weekend and did not run. I got in it this morning and headed to the first field and it wasn't working correctly. I resorted to the 11.5 mph/32 psi combo for our 10 gpa.

I guess I am just wondering if anyone out there has had any trouble with their high-flow 4830's rate controller and flow meter, and if anyone has any idea why it works some times and doesn't others.

Any info or advice is appreciated.
