Subject: Can anyone explain RTK base station "self survey" in laymans terms

I have heard this term "self survey" many times and I am not sure I understand what that meens. Do all current RTK basestations self survey? I am thinking mostly Top Con hipers but I am curious about others as well.

Hopefully Lance will repond, always enjoy his GPS wisdom!
