NW IL | They will need to make Combine and Tractor Gliders like Freightliner does for trucks. We can just rebuild our old engines forever. Hopefully the companies are smart enough to figure this out. That will be fun to order a combine with a factory remanufactured engine and forget about all this worthless pollution garbage. They would sell for a premium. I would pay more now to get a Tier 2 or older engine. Pay more, cost less to produce, better fuel efficiency, cost less to maintain. CNH, Deere, simple recipe for increased profits for everyone. Timing, about 2014 would be good, we will be ready to trade all this Tier 3 stuff off by then and forget about final Tier 4. All we need from R&D is wiring harnessess and mounts to make old engines fit and to rewire to match new electronic controls in the cab and on the rest of the machine. I guess a JD and CNH factory rebuilt motor division would also be good, but if you do not want the business we can find some local shops to rebuild the motors. | |
