Subject: How far is too far to drive a new tractor home?

Southern MN
I'm curious about how far one can drive a newly purchased tractor home before it becomes too costly on fuel or wears on the tires too badly. A few years ago my dealer would haul equipment for $4 a loaded mile. At how many miles does it make more sense to have a tractor hauled versus driving it home? For this discussion, assume the tractor is a 200hp MFWD 5000hr tractor and duals are taken off and hauled on a trailer.

There are two tractors of interest to me, one is 10 minutes away, the other is 9-10 hours away driving at tractor speed. I'm not sure how much fuel a tractor burns at top road speed nor do I know how much road wear on the tires to expect. Please educate me.
