Columbia City, Indiana | My daughters are 6 and 4, and I thought it would be fun to take them to their first cattle sale today. I remember when I was their age, sitting there almost afraid to breathe because it had been drilled into my head that if I moved, the auctioneer would think I was bidding and I might buy something, lol! I still loved going, though.
We had a fun time. Prices were nuts, saw some nice black 400 pounders bring exactly $2. Even nicer Holstein feeders were close to $1.50 on a few groups. A group of black calves brought about .20 more than an almost identical group of red calves, only difference I could see was the hair color. CAB wins again, I guess! | |
