| well, got the front clutch out of the tractor and disassembled. You guys might remember me asking about this a month ago or so.... and most were in agreement that the front clutch assembly was the culprit.
of course one of the clutch paks was badly burnt/warped. One of the steel sealing rings was absolutley destroyed. nothing left in the groove except a few shards of shrapnel. Of the 4 rings, this was the one that entered into the hub first. I wonder if the previous mechanic got a little impatient while assembling it and broke it?
I can't believe the mating surface it seals against survived.... it's all nice and smooth in that bore.. not even a scratch! My luck it's quite the opposite that happens! | |
