Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | In a nearby town this past week, a sportscar led the highway patrol on a high-speed chase out into the country. The fast little car was clocked at 160mph, which kinda narrowed down the number of vehicles in the suspect pool. The subject of the chase dodged his pursuer and escaped. The highway patrolman involved in the chase has a good friend who lives near where the chase ended, and this friend also happens to own a sportscar the same color as the escapee's. The patrolman cruised by his friend's home and the friend's car was in the driveway.....didn't appear anyone was home. Patrolman walks up and lays his hand on the hood, which was cold to the touch, so he knew his friend's car wasn't involved. Started to walk away and leave, but just on the spur of the moment, walked into his friend's shop. Imagine the expressions on the various faces when there in his friend's shop sets his friend's daughter's boyfriend and a male passenger in a sportscar, with a very warm hood. Don't know who was the most surprised, but pretty sure who was the most distressed.
