Eastern Iowa | Have corn that was hit by the winds last week, it blew over and is now goosenecking. In some areas the ear will be a foot off the ground and a full row over from where it was planted. Wondering what cornhead works best in these conditions. Have a CaseIH 2412 currently, its not too bad in down corn. Also have an old CIH 1083 cornhead with a reel on it that we have used on flat corn. Local dealer sells Drago heads but not sure if the self adjusting stripper plates are a good thing on goosenecked corn- I fear they will open up when pulling in a crooked stalk. Let me know your thoughts. I may post in Machinery Talk also. | |
