Subject: Best Cornhead for down corn, goosenecked corn

Eastern Iowa
Have corn that was hit by the winds last week, it blew over and is now goosenecking. In some areas the ear will be a foot off the ground and a full row over from where it was planted. Wondering what cornhead works best in these conditions. Have a CaseIH 2412 currently, its not too bad in down corn. Also have an old CIH 1083 cornhead with a reel on it that we have used on flat corn. Local dealer sells Drago heads but not sure if the self adjusting stripper plates are a good thing on goosenecked corn- I fear they will open up when pulling in a crooked stalk. Let me know your thoughts. I may post in Machinery Talk also.
