Subject: corn pollination again, southern growers and others

nc ks
Our corn has been pretty fortunate as far as moisture. It has been rolled pretty tight a few times but a rain bailed us out. I feel for you guys to the south, never had it as bad as many of you, but have had to try to salvage corn several times that was very questionable whether we were getting enough to pay the chopping bill. We still are not out of the woods yet and that brings me to my question. We have had 100+ degree heat for several days now and it will be 104+ for the next week anyway. We commonly pollinate in temperatures that would scare the corn belt softies to death. (Just joking, kind of). However, I have never been through pollination where it got this hot through the whole pollination period. Is it possible we will come out of this with any decent cobs or are we screwed? Our corn is not rolling up too bad at the moment and actually looks quite good in many cases.
