Subject: Poultry Manure Injection with Single Disk in Virginia

I just got this photo stream from one of our customers. It is really early in the learning curve but we should be able to improve performance quite a bit. Some of it is just adjustment like the toolbar needs to be rotated back- which may or may not be easy to do with this setup. Other changes to be made for next year include change the boot design so it follows he furrow better and doesn't weigh down the closing wheels. This is a private owner. The USDA in Maryland is also experimenting with a similar setup. We were really late getting everything out this year with the closing system redesign so it was sort of a proof of concept for this season. When I look at these pictures I am so glad there is no metal on metal contact on the 6000 unit, the stuff gets everywhere. We started out at a 7 degree angle but moved it to 6. The force on the unit is immense. The Curvetine closing wheel needs to be further from the furrow when running at these large angles.
