Subject: Fix or Replace---Need Advice

Huron county Ontario Canada
We have a 1975 8600 Ford with 9600 hrs on it. Problem is it is currently sitting in 4 pieces in the dealer's shop. it needs about 9k worth of repairs to the tranny. It has been a very good tractor up until now but is it wise to spend 9k on a tractor that is probably only worth 7500 before these problems?

If not what would you replace it with? Just looking for suggestions as to model numbers, new or used, don't worry about price, we can sort those details out later. We have no use for MFWD on this tractor and a cab is not absolutely necessary. Would be looking for something with not too many hours on it or possibly new but it only needs to be a BASIC tractor. i don't need or want to pay for all the bells and whistles. What fits in that category in the 100 hp range. i have a good New Holland, Kubota, Case and John Deere dealers within reasonable distance.

Thanks for any advice!
