Subject: California destinations

Northeast Iowa
I'm heading to California in February and would like to see some agriculture up close if possible. The World Ag Expo has had some tours, and I enjoyed the one I took, but they're having the same one in 2011 as when I was there last. I'd prefer to see some production and processing of citrus, produce and nuts, or anything else that's different from Midwest row-crop production. Anyone ever been out there and done anything like this on your own? Do you have any suggestions on what to see or what to avoid? I'll be flying into Los Angeles. A good share of my time will be in the Central Valley, but I'm willing to go elsewhere.

I had a great time in South Dakota and Yellowstone earlier this year after getting suggestions and hints from people here, so I decided to try the NAT route again.

Thanks.
