As you can see most of them have freed themselves and the whorl is now free to expand. Some of the plants still have the bottom leaves tied together with dead tissue. There will still be very slight stand loss as some plants are still wrapped up and don't look like they will free up. My dad tried the rotary hoe on some and that didn't really help. One guy tried dragging some of his. In the end I think it just needed time. I'm sure the 40mph wind and 85 degree heat yesterday didn't hurt either.
