Subject: starter fertilizer next to seed row

Savannah, NY
Looking at new corn planters. Use a Kinze twin line with 3 rawson coulters now. Put a blend of 10g 10-34-0 and 10g 30% nitan down two outside coulters, about 3" from row. Would like to try running just 2 coulters. One lead and one 3" to the side. Can we still use the 20 gallon rate through only one coulter at 3" from seed row instead of splitting it in 2 rows? We do get some planter drift on our hills. Thanks
