I finally got my Vista upgrade installed doing the "custom" installation that is supposed to wipe the drive clean.  Everything seems to be working better now including my printer.  Now the scanner works properly-which it didn't with Vista.  So far I like 7 except I haven't got my wife's Photoshop Elements loaded yet as I think it may not be compatible, but in general I like 7 better than Vista.  This is assuming I get all my wife's photo's loaded back on to it now and don't lose them in the process   :-)
