| Picking up a new farm this year and the landlord presented us with a different kind of lease, or at least one we have never seen before. This year is $125, next year $135, following year $145, following year $155, then the 6 years following that it stays at $155. So basically it's a 10 year lease. Our other option is to lease it year by year. The only problem with the year by year thing is that if someone else comes and offers more for it we are screwed. What do you guys think about long leases like that? Hard to see where crop prices will be in 10 years. By the way these numbers may seem cheap but it's some pretty crappy ground lol. | |
