USA | With all the traited corn being planted, a 35 cents per bu premium for NGMO Hard Endo Corn for the 07 crop is being offered in this area. Here is the numbers I came up with comparing a 100 ares of income from planting 100 acres to triple stack with a 20% refuge to NGMO Hard Endo.
Traited Corn
Triple stack seed corn 80% = $4160
RR corn with Ponch 250 20% = $880
Aztec refuge acres = $280
Chemicals = $700
Yield loss on Refuge 10 bu x $3= $600
Total Cost = $6620
NGMO Corn
Seed Cost = $2100
Regent and Aztec= $2600
Chemicals = $2000
Total Cost = $6700
16,500 bu x $.35 premium= -$5775
Net Cost of NGMO orn = $925
Total Cost of Trated Corn=- $6620
Extra NGMO profit per 100 acres = $5695
