Subject: Frost-dent-black layer in Kankakee Co

Chebanse, IL.....

EddieDry....you may be interested in this. I believe your previously posted statement was mentioned in verbal discussions.

Attended a Kankakee Co Corn Growers meeting last night. On Tues of this week, they had completed a survey of many of their own K3 co corn fields. Literally hundreds of visits.

There were just two (2) fields that were black-layered.

Only 31% of the fields had reached dent stage. From dent stage, it's usually 6 weeks to black layer....at normal maturing speed.

Though some that are located hundreds of mis away contradict our thoughts, we still think that frost damage has a high potential in this area (Kankakee) of NE IL.
