s.e. Pa | We normally put around 160 units of nitrogen on corn, all from 28%. Typical is 40 units 2x2, 60 units with the first sprayer pass, either pre planting, or pre emerge, and then side dress 60 units. I'm wondering about skipping the 60 units with first sprayer pass, and upping the 2x2 to 60 and side dress to 100. What effect will this have on yield? I'm doing this because i'd like to not have to mess with 28% in the first pass, but also because i'm not sure the nitrogen sprayed with the herbicide is needed until later anyway. | |
