Subject: 7600 powerquad problems

near dyersville iowa
early 1993 jd 7600 16 sp powerquad shifts hard into 1st gear in any of the ranges, also having hard time getting into 4th gear in any of the ranges. Cant get into 4th reverse at all. Replaced all the little pins in the linkage. Linkage still pushes hard when disconnected from the transmission entirely, so it is a linkage problem. Ive spent hours trying to adjust, doesnt seem to matter. The only thing i can think of is the actual shifter rod that goes through the cab floor is bent, it seems to rub on the sides of the hole in the floor. Anyone else had this problem? I really cant imagine putting that much pressure on that rod to get it to bend, and the dealer doesnt have one on hand to compare it to. Tractor has 7k hours on it. Any help is appreciated..tia
