Subject: What to do with new ground?

I've rented a new to me farm that has been in pasture/grass hay for a long time. With raining every day I have'nt been able to spray it yet and the grass has gotten pretty big now. Supposed to be a chance of rain starting Wed. through Sun. this week. I don't know which way to go with this one, should I just burn it down when I can? or try to get someone to cut it for hay first then burndown and plant? Very frustrating year so far, getting real late here for re-plant corn but I have no choice on that because fert. and chem. is already down. Which way would you handle this sod? If I had known I was gonna have it last fall, that would have been ideal to burn down then, but this just came up about a month ago. Thanks fella's.
